\nSaturday, September 19, 2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Workshop Presenter Certification Day<\/strong> offers workshops and activities to certify new secondary students as MASC workshop presenters and re-certify those already trained. MASC values peer teaching as a powerful, effective way to develop student leaders, and has built an extensive program to prepare students to deliver engaging, high-quality workshops. As a result, most sessions at MASC conferences are led by students.<\/p>\n

MASC is an <\/span>association of student councils<\/b>, and the students who participate in our programs and events are expected to be involved with their school\u2019s student council and\/or their county-level student council.\u00a0<\/span>Students who complete the certification are expected to present at least one of MASC\u2019s three major conferences:<\/span><\/p>\n

> Fall Leadership Conference<\/b> \u2013 open to all secondary schools in Maryland, regardless of MASC membership.
\n<\/span>> Legislative Session<\/b> \u2013 open to MASC member schools.
\n<\/span>> State Convention<\/b> \u2013 open to MASC member schools.<\/span><\/p>\n

Participants in this training will be eligible to apply to present at the Fall Leadership Conference<\/strong> (high school only) and take part in the Legislative Session and Convention as presenters.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Important:<\/strong> Only register if you can attend the entire<\/em> day.\u00a0 Groups are assigned after registration closes, so if your attendance status changes, please email Karen.Crawford@mdstudentcouncils.org<\/span> as soon<\/span><\/strong> as possible.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/a><\/strong>Registration is open to students in grades 8\u201312.<\/p>\n

Please Note:<\/strong> This is an intensive<\/em> day of workshops that will require your full focus and commitment. Participants will also have pre-event homework<\/strong> (outlined in the registration form).<\/span><\/h3>\n

\n\u2022 Fee<\/strong>:\u00a0 No fee; bring your lunch, a reusable water bottle, and a three-ring binder with a cover insert<\/span>. Students previously certified are asked to bring their binder and handouts (save trees with less printing).\u00a0 MASC provides drinks and cookies.\u00a0 (We have a limited amount of binders available if you don’t have one.)\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>
\n\u2022 Check-in time<\/strong>: 8:30 a.m.- 9:00 a.m.
\n\u2022 Event time<\/strong>: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
\n\u2022 Materials: three-ring<\/strong> binder (with cover sleeve), lunch, and a reusable water bottle!\u00a0 MASC provides drinks, cookies, and all workshop binder materials.
